All sizes are made smaller than the true measurement to give a firm and flattering fit and as such you are encouraged to order to your true body size, although there is naturally a bit of stretch. We would always advise measuring your hip/waist (where the band sits) and not go of your normal jeans size as these may not be accurate. However, If you are normally a 33" waist (when measured) you would likely want to order a 32" waist.
